As part of its fleet management and operation hub movement, Thai AirAsia X will temporarily suspend its flights between Bangkok and Sydney for three months.
The Thai-based medium/long-haul arm of AirAsia announced the suspension of its route between Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport and Sydney will take place between August 1 and November 30. Services on the route will be resumed in December with more flight frequencies.
Upon the resumption of the route in December, the route along with Thai AirAsia X's other flights will shift to Bangkok's Don Mueang Airport on October 1.
“Thai AirAsia X remains committed to the Australia market. While this decision to suspend services temporarily is not taken lightly, the aim is to return again soon with an enhanced schedule and experience to better meet our guest demands for the best value fares to and from Australia,” the airline said in a statement.
According to the airline, affected customers will have their flights automatically rerouted on AirAsia X-operated flights to Sydney via Kuala Lumpur. Customers are also advised on the other options such as flight changes, flight credit, or refunds.
